 Professional:
 Currently in his 12th year teaching at Urbana City Schools, the first 6 primarily as a 7th grade world studies and accelerated language arts teacher the past 5 years he has taught 8th grade technology applications and assisted with building IT duties.  Mr. LaValley also teaches the Personal Financial Literacy online course, he is very excited for the opportunity for UJHS students to participate in the online learning environment. He has presented at the eTech conference in Columbus, Ohio in 2011 and again in 2012.

Personal:
Mr. LaValley has coached basketball, track, football, and baseball at Urbana City Schools. He is happily married and has one son and two young daughters and a pup named Olivia. Joachim is currently finishing up his Google Apps for Education Certified Trainer. (GAFE) and has already become a Google Certified Power Searcher. He graduated from the University of Michigan-Flint in August of 2008 with his Masters in Educational Technology degree after completing the Global Program in Geneva, Switzerland.
